Experts support initiatives to transform the field of intellectual property

According to the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture Lilia Gumerova at the International Conference of Rospatent "Transformation of the Intellectual Property Field in Modern Conditions", the Federation Council supports the initiatives of the Office and the professional community to transform the intellectual property field, digitalize public services, stimulate inventive activity and commercialization of Russian developments. Thanks to the joint activities of the Federation Council and Rospatent, it was possible to increase the number of registrations of traditional goods of Russian regions as an appellation of origin (AO) and to introduce a new object of intellectual rights – «geographical indication». Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Sergei Lyulin drew attention to the long-term and fruitful cooperation between the Ministry and Rospatent, in particular, with the participation of Rospatent, a draft resolution of the Government of Russia was developed on the approval of the rules for paying remuneration for employee inventions, utility models, industrial designs.
