Rospatent has issued patents for 55 inventions aimed at combating coronavirus

Since the beginning of the pandemic Russian inventors have filed about 300 applications for developments related to coronavirus infection. According to the Head of the Intellectual Property Office Grigory Ivliev, Rospatent has issued patents for 55 inventions aimed at combating coronavirus. The rest of the applications were rejected or are still being processed on a priority basis within an average of 22 days. The State Research Center for Virology and Biotechnology "Vector" has received patents for the vaccine it has created against Covid-19.

Previously, patents for a two-component vaccine against coronavirus infection were received by the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after Gamalei N.F. According to the press service of Rospatent, unlike their colleagues Novosibirsk scientists have developed a vaccine containing virus fragments - synthetic peptide antigens. A vaccine based on them triggers an immune response against Covid-19 and further promotes the development of immunity at all.
